If you have other children, they might have mixed emotions as well. They will probably be excited about their sibling returning home and life going back to normal, but the family balance might be disrupted as well.
Cancer diagnoses and treatments can take many months, during which time the family will have become used to that way of life. Once your child’s treatment is over, the child might be around more often than they were before, and they won’t be making the same frequent visits to hospital. Brothers and sisters might not understand that their sibling may be changed by their experience with cancer.
